This could be something you have read or seen on a movie/show, or something that has been told and retold in your family, or something you enjoy hearing/telling amongst friends. 1/31- Journal: "Cultural Values": 1.Values are defined as, "beliefs of a person or social group in which they have an emotional investment." Culture is defined as, "the complex and elaborate system of meaning and behavior that defines the way of life for a group or society." We see what is most important to us, as a culture or society, through music, fashion, literature, leisure activities, movies/TV, and the ways goods are advertised. Rarely, do we stop to think about that which we value as individuals or as a culture. Occasionally, our individual values fail to align with those of our society. Discuss some of your personal values, and then discuss some cultural values you can identify within the American culture we share. If you are part of another culture, feel free to discuss some values of that culture, especially those that may differ from the American cultural values you just listed.
